I've had "Toast w/Jam 5" for about 2 years, and now they want like $99 to upgrade to 6. I assume the plan is to render a hi-rez Quicktime file from FCP and drop it in the program chosen to create the DVD? short film that a friend of mine shot (and I did the music) and transfer it onto a dvd, with the intent of making sure it plays well on computers, tv sets, and even projected in screening rooms (if the film ever gets that far of course). Lame.Īnyways, apples will be apples and now I ask this. As a result, you have to now spend an additional $50 on iLife, which contains 2 programs which already come standard with most Macs (iPhoto and iTunes), 1 program which I don't need (Garage Band) and basically, you're spending $50 just to get iDVD which you used to get for free. Then a few months later they want you to spend $130 on the Panther OS, where somehow they decided not to include iDVD anymore. It's weird, you spend nearly $3k on a laptop (1 year ago), loaded with Jaguar and a bunch of apps like iPhoto, iTunes, iDVD, etc.
